Story: Tina and her eco-friendly friends

With her eyes still closed, Tina opens the curtain in her bedroom, and sunlight shines through the window. She takes a deep breath, thanks God for a new day, and gets ready to go to school, like every day.

On the way to school, he noticed that many homes were not complying with the Curbside Recycling Program. The brown (organic waste), blue (metal, glass, plastic), green (paper, cardboard), and black trash bins contained solid waste mixed together.

Tina had a lot of knowledge about the classification of solid waste because at school, they taught her how to recycle correctly, and she realized that adults were doing it wrong.

When she returned home after her classes, she was still pensive and worried about the poor disposal of solid waste. She walked around the kitchen to see if she could come up with any ideas, but she immediately gave up and said out loud, "I can't think of anything", and started crying!!!

Tina's mom used to keep a fruit bowl on the dining room table, so Mrs. Strawberry watched her. Afterward, the strawberry was left alone in the kitchen and called a special meeting with all the fruits.

So, Mrs. Strawberry led the meeting and started like this: Hello friends, I have called you to a meeting, because it is time to help each other. There is a Curbside Recycling Program, but not all households are doing it right. They mix all the waste in one trash bin, and everything ends up in the landfills. I need the support of all of you to spread our help plan with all the fruits of the neighborhood, groceries, and supermarket.

And what will be our function, said the Orange? Well, we just have to make sure that the organic waste ends up in the brown container for composting. I understand!!! said the Orange. It won't be difficult!!!

One day, Mr. Pumpkin approaches Mrs. Strawberry and asks her what is happening.
Why do the fruits have so many meetings? Then, Mrs. Strawberry told him the story, and Mr. Pumpkin decided to join the project. Mrs. Strawberry found an ally and was very happy. The vegetables followed the same strategy as the fruits, under the leadership of Mr. Pumpkin.

After several months, Tina noticed changes in her journey to school. she stopped and said, "Something strange is happening. I see more order in the trash bins."

When she got home, she started singing with joy and said: You have finally started following the recycling rules. Mrs. Strawberry and Mr. Pumpkin heard everything, and just like Tina, they were excited about the results and gave each other a warm hug.

At that very moment, Tina walked into the kitchen and saw that Mrs. Strawberry and Mr. Pumpkin were alive. For a moment, Tina was scared! But then she calmed down and talked to both of them. 

Tina felt very motivated because, thanks to the advice of her new friends, she now knew how to help with the Curbside Recycling Program.

Tina promised to start Recycling Leadership with her classmates and other children her age.

Cuento: Tina y sus amigos ecológicos

Tina aún con los ojos cerrados, abre la cortina de su dormitorio y la luz del sol atraviesa por la ventana. Respira profundo y da gracias a Dios por un nuevo día y se alista para ir al colegio como todos los días.
Camino a su escuela, se da cuenta que muchas viviendas no cumplían con el Programa de Reciclaje en la acera. Los contenedores de basura de color marrón (residuos orgánicos), azul (metal,vidrio,plástico), verde (papel, cartón) y negro (basura), contenían residuos sólidos mezclados entre sí.
Tina, tenía mucho conocimiento de la clasificación de los residuos sólidos porque en el colegio le enseñaron como Reciclar correctamente y se dió cuenta que los adultos lo estaban haciendo mal.
Al regresar a su hogar después de sus clases, aún seguía pensativa y preocupada por la mala disposición de los residuos sólidos, caminaba por toda la cocina, para ver si se le ocurría alguna idea, pero al instante se dió por vencida y dijo en voz alta “No se me ocurre nada” y empezó a llorar!!!
La mamá de Tina acostumbraba tener un frutero en la mesa del comedor, así que la Sra. Fresa estuvo observándola. Después, la Sra. fresa se quedó sola en la cocina, y convocó a una reunión extraordinaria con todas las frutas.
Entonces, la Sra. Fresa lideró la reunión y empezó así: «Hola amigos, les he convocado a una reunión, porque es hora de ayudarnos mutuamente. Existe un Programa de Reciclaje en la acera, pero no todos los hogares están haciéndolo bien, mezclan todos los residuos sólidos en un solo contenedor de basura y todo termina en los vertederos y necesito el apoyo de todas ustedes para divulgar nuestro plan de ayuda con todas las frutas del vecindario, groceries y supermarket».

Y cuál será nuestra función dijo la Naranja?... bueno solo tenemos que estar atentos que los residuos orgánicos terminen en el contenedor marrón para la elaboración de Compost. Comprendo!!! dijo la Naranja. No será difícil!!!.
Un día el Sr. Zapallo, se acerca a la Sra. fresa y le pregunta que está sucediendo. Porque las frutas tienen tantas reuniones?, entonces la Sra. Fresa le cuenta la historia y el Sr. Zapallo decide unirse al proyecto. La Sra. Fresa encontró un aliado y se puso muy feliz. Los vegetales hicieron la misma estrategia de las frutas, bajo el liderazgo del Sr. Zapallo.
Después de varios meses, Tina notó cambios en su recorrido a la escuela, se detuvo y dijo «Algo raro esta pasando, observo más orden en los contenedores de basura»
Al regresar a casa, empezó a cantar de felicidad y dijo: Por fin empezaron a cumplir las reglas de reciclaje. La Sra. fresa y el Sr. Zapallo escucharon todo, y al igual que Tina se emocionaron de los resultados y se dieron un afectuoso abrazo.
En ese preciso momento, ingresa Tina a la cocina y vió que la Sra. Fresa y el Sr. Zapallo tenían vida. Por un momento Tina se asustó! Pero después se calmó y conversó con ambos. Tina se sintió muy motivada porque gracias al consejo de sus nuevos amigos, ahora sabía cómo ayudar en el Programa de Reciclaje en la acera.
Tina prometió comenzar el liderazgo de Reciclaje con sus compañeros de clases y con otros niños de su edad.
